We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at A&W Restaurants Inc in Williams Lake, BC.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing staff, maintaining high-quality customer service, and adhering to A&W standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise restaurant staff to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Conduct daily performance reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Schedule staff and manage shift roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with A&W standards, Provincial WCB, and Employment and Health regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and develop hourly staff, including participating in hiring decisions for supervisory positions.
  • Lead meetings and ensure a healthy, motivating work environment.
  • Manage inventory control, ordering, cost control, and weekly inventory counts.
  • Apply cash and food cost management principles.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards and safe food handling practices are met.
  • Assist the Manager with local store marketing and manage accidents or complaints.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a restaurant supervisory role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership with supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in all restaurant positions.
  • Complete knowledge of the Operating System.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Operating Standards.
  • High interest in developing others.
  • Ability to do accounting and manage administrative aspects of the operation.
Preferred Skills
  • Acceptable oral and written communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lead meetings.
Physical Demands
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Some heavy lifting.
