We are a professional consulting engineering firm that provides project planning, engineering design, and project management services to the oil and gas industry. Our team of experts specializes in conventional oil and gas projects, heavy oil processing, and enhanced oil recovery projects.

Main Duties and Competencies

The Senior INTools Wiring Designer will participate in all areas and phases of small and mid-sized projects from inception to completion. This position reports into the project development team with heavy interaction with Electrical and Controls Engineering team. As a senior member of the team, the individual will be responsible for:

  • Designing layout and location drawings
  • Designing wiring and loop drawings with the use of SPI (INTools)
  • Maintaining project deliverables using SmartPlant Instrumentation tools
  • Preparing Bills of Material
  • Designing layout and location drawings as required
  • Reviewing SPI Redline incorporation (As-Builts) of Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Loop Drawings, Instrumentation
  • Ensuring all drawings are in agreement with the latest vendor print
  • Performing other duties as requested
  • Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits
  • Designing Panel Strip Reports, and Foundation Fieldbus Segments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensuring all drawings and materials are in accordance with the specifications and standards, including applicable codes and regulations
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An engineering degree or technology certification in instrumentation/controls or electrical
  • 5 years or more of experience as an instrument/control system designer position in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in instrumentation and control design, including 2D CADD, and 3D Modeling (PDS and PDMS)
  • Minimum three (3) years of solid experience on Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) at a super-user level
  • Working knowledge of SPI administration's role and its interface with SPI super-user
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including Project, Control System and Electrical
  • CET, RET OR Registration with APEGA or P.Eng. is preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication (oral & written) and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
