Position Title: Senior Accounting Analyst, Corporate Finance
Reports To: Director, Corporate Finance
Department: Corporate Finance
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.
The Opportunity: The Corporate Finance team is looking for an individual ready to learn more about entity level reporting at a large financial institution.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly expense allocations and reporting; includes maintenance of expense models and cost centres while ensuring compliance with approved allocation methodologies and expense policies
- Coordination of the annual expense budgeting cycle for the company, working closely with cost centre managers and business leaders
- Implement dynamic reporting functionality through the use of Microsoft Power BI and possibly other tools, as appropriate
- Work closely with all members of the Corporate Finance team, including the Directors and Vice President
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education with emphasis on accounting and/or business administration
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with general accounting concepts, operational finance functions and technical knowledge of accounting systems
- Expert Excel and Power BI skills
- Experience setting up and implementing Power BI reporting, including connecting backend data to develop efficient and sustainable reporting and analytics
- Experience with automating and streamlining processes is an asset
- Foundational problem solving, prioritizing and analytical thinking skills
