We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Alberta Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network startup and close down, and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in network administration and support
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, devices, and systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
