Cybersecurity Network Specialist

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Network Specialist for our client, a leading multinational corporation in Edmonton, Canada. The role is a hybrid position, with 3 days of work from the office and the rest remote.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is an 11-month contract with a high possibility of extension. As a Cybersecurity Network Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting the F5 Web Access Firewall (WAF).

The F5 WAF plays a critical role in Zero Trust security architecture by securing web applications and protecting against various web-based threats. You will ensure that only authorized, authenticated, and validated users and devices are allowed to access specific applications, regardless of their location within or outside the network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, Implementing, and daily operations of the F5 Web Access Firewall (WAF)
  • Implementing, modernizing, managing, and supporting our network infrastructure, along with proactive monitoring, analysis, and reporting
  • Achieving a high availability IT network infrastructure and IT network services, in accordance with the client, Technology Services, Service Level Agreements
  • Hands-on implementation, upgrading, troubleshooting of network software and hardware infrastructure
  • Managing and prioritizing workload, ensuring cross-training, workload sharing, and collaborative team effort
  • Effective teamwork and proficient communication with team members and supported ministries
  • Leading and/or participating in networking projects, designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting best practices
  • Participating and contributing to cross-functional IT projects, providing technical IT networking know-how and expertise
  • Performing problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution
  • Planning for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations
  • Developing and maintaining documentation
  • Developing network-related procedures
  • Providing cross-training and knowledge transfer to team members
