About the Role: Technical Lead
The Operations Manager will lead and oversee our Mechanical Engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario. This leader will mentor junior staff, provide senior technical advice on complex projects, develop new business, grow a specialized team of technical professionals, and maintain quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong business knowledge and financial acumen to make informed project decisions.
- Prepare division budgets on time and meet profit and utilization targets.
- Track monthly division performance metrics, including client satisfaction, revenue, and accounts receivable.
- Oversee contract document preparation to Pinchin standards.
- Lead the well-being and safety of Pinchin employees at work sites.
- Supervise employees and monitor job proficiency and quality.
- Mentor and supervise senior, intermediate, and junior-level staff.
- Provide technical assistance to employees and ensure they are trained in company procedures.
- Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and set annual goals for professional growth with employees.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, with a strong background in project management and team leadership.
- Previous consulting experience is required.
- 5+ years of proven experience in managing operations, including resource planning, budgeting, and process optimization.
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to develop new and grow existing relationships.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
- Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, IES, Trace software, and other relevant tools.
