We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Burnside & Associates Limited in Mississauga, Ontario. Our company specializes in various projects including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, transportation infrastructure, condition audits, and water/wastewater facilities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with experience in HVAC design to contribute to our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in designing and managing construction administration of HVAC systems, collaborating with project stakeholders, and integrating these systems into overall projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing detailed designs for HVAC and plumbing systems for municipal, industrial, and commercial projects;
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to budget requirements;
  • Conducting field surveys, preparing specifications, and overseeing installation and testing of HVAC systems;
  • Managing project schedules, resource allocation, and budget to ensure projects meet established parameters;
  • Effective communication with project stakeholders, clients, and external agencies;
  • Troubleshooting system-related issues during and post-installation;
  • Preparing reports and supporting documentation for project submissions;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on HVAC systems;
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Proficiency in CAD and HVAC design software;
  • Strong proposal and technical writing skills;
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required.
