Mav Beauty Canada is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development of high-performance haircare products.
This role requires a creative and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record in formulation development, performance evaluation, and quality control.
The ideal candidate will partner with the brand team to drive innovation and pipeline development, while working closely with contract manufacturers to ensure alignment with brand vision and consumer needs.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the end-to-end product development process, including innovation concept development, brief development, benchmark identification, formula evaluations, and documentation, and launch production.
- Partner with Brand Team on Innovation strategy and pipeline development.
- Curate competitive and trend analysis for new product/collection launches to inform potential new product launches/white space opportunities.
- Write new product concepts with clear benefits, reasons to believe, and claims.
- Translate brand objectives into clear product briefs for contract manufacturer and manages the development of process to ensure alignment with brand vision and consumer needs.
- Work directly with contract manufacturer R&D teams and provides technical expertise in formulation throughout process, leveraging a strong knowledge base of hair biology.
- Evaluates submissions with a focus on product performance & quality.
- Assess packaging functionality in conjunction with formula to ensure compatibility and maximum performance.
- Claims Validation: ~ Support all Consumer and Analytical Claims testing initiatives inclusive of budget tracking in collaboration with the Brand teams.
- Project Management: Manage the day-to-day communication and activities between Brand, Operations, Reg Compliance & Quality, and Contract Manufacturers and executes activities based on priorities set by Manager, driving tasks to completion and escalating any potential issues with the goal of delivering all projects on time and in full.
- Strong partnership with Operations teams to procure all sampling needs for various development milestones such as internal testing, large scale consumer testing, early launch needs, etc.
- Support approval process and resolution of pending items to ensure smooth process from development to commercialization.
