About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team at Samuel Packaging Systems Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Accounting Policy Development: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, and other financial transactions.
  • Internal Controls: Assess and maintain effective internal controls related to financial reporting to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Train and develop staff on accounting policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent application throughout the organization.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as legal, tax, and treasury to address financial reporting issues and ensure alignment on financial matters.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, or process improvements with accounting implications.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in accounting, with 5+ years specifically in technical accounting roles.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
