Job Summary

Thales is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel and Manager of Contracts to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for reviewing and drafting contracts, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and draft contracts, including commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and employment contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and provide opinions on contractual matters.
  • Negotiate key legal terms and conditions with customers and suppliers.
  • Monitor contracts for compliance with financial, legal, and technical obligations.
  • Provide timely and effective legal advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor risks and escalate issues as necessary.
Requirements
  • Law degree (LLB, JD) and current membership in a provincial bar association.
  • Minimum of five years of experience practicing commercial law for a law firm, government, or corporation.
  • Working knowledge of government procurement policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with hardware, software, technology, or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, Canadian Controlled Goods Program, Canadian Industrial Security Program, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
