Nursing Director for Long-Term Care Facility

The City of Toronto seeks an experienced and skilled Nursing Director to lead its long-term care facility.
Job SummaryThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and exceptional communication skills. As the Nursing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing services department, ensuring high-quality resident care, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversight and management of nursing staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
- Development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and programs
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care
- Management of budget and resources, ensuring efficient use of financial and human resources
- Regulatory compliance, including adherence to legislation and standards related to long-term care
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and certification in Nursing Administration or equivalent experience
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing management, preferably in a long-term care setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and budgets
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Masters' degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives
- Proven track record of successful change management and team development
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
