About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Community Health Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including community members, healthcare professionals, and government agencies, to develop and implement effective health promotion initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality public health nursing services to diverse individuals, families, and communities in a variety of settings, including schools, homes, and outreach locations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary/intersectoral teams to plan, implement, and evaluate health programs and services that promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to advance health equity and social justice.
  • Participate in research studies, surveys, and focus groups to inform evidence-based practice and policy development.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experiences.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing, including public health nursing component.
  • Six months recent, relevant Public Health nursing experience or one year's recent nursing experience in Maternal/Infant/Child, or successfully meets FH New Grad requirements with successful completion of final practicum/Co-op in Public Health.
  • Valid Class V B.C. Driver's licence and have access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
