About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Disorders Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. In this role, you will work with children (birth to kindergarten eligibility) and families in your community, providing services that promote early intervention and prevention of communication disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and follow-up for clients with hearing, communication, and related disorders in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards and scope of clinical practice.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on client assessments, collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and client/family goals.
  • Maintain related records, documentation, and statistics, preparing reports in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to Speech Language Assistants, ensuring they meet standards, are familiar with program policies and directives through orientation and regular communication.
  • Participate in program planning for Speech/Language Pathology Services, attending meetings, identifying areas requiring further development, and providing input to the designated Clinical Practice Leader as requested.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Speech Language Pathology.
  • One (1) year recent related clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current active registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian and/or BC Association of Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology (CASLPA and/or BCSLPA).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.

The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $42.27 - $52.81 / hour, offering a competitive compensation package, including four weeks of vacation, comprehensive health benefits, and a pension plan.
