We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Community Health Specialist. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality community-based services to patients with respiratory dysfunction.
About the Role- You will provide diagnostic testing, disease management education, and respiratory interventions to adult, pediatric, and infant patients with respiratory dysfunction.
- Formulate and document patient care plans based on assessments and diagnostic test results.
- Provide education, support, and counseling to patients and their families regarding respiratory disease management.
- Assess patients with respiratory limitations for appropriate home oxygen/respiratory therapy and equipment through reviewing health records and patient history, performing diagnostic tests, and organizing follow-up assessments.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide information and access to alternative therapy and resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences, COPD rehabilitation classes, and community respiratory meetings as required.
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) credentialing exam.
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
- Two years' recent related experience in respiratory home care or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
$37.89 - $47.31 per hour.
