Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Shree Khodiyar Ontario Inc. as a key member of our culinary team.

Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will be responsible for planning menus, estimating food requirements, and supervising kitchen staff and helpers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for our restaurant and catering services
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient and safe food preparation
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with attention to detail
  • Stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and maintain high standards

Support for Mature Workers:
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
  • Provide staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
  • Offer phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities
