Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Emergency Nurse to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The successful candidate will provide mental health expertise in patient assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation within the Emergency Department and Mental Health Observation Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health assessment and care planning for patients in the Emergency Department and Mental Health Observation Unit.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on mental health issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute mental health experience.
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health experience.
  • Previous experience in an Emergency Department preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BScMH, BScPN, or BN preferred.
  • Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) required.
