Job Title: Registered Psychiatric Nurse

Victoria General Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent nursing services, including administration of interventions and treatments.
  • Lead the healthcare team and facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
  • Maintain and provide proof of active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program.
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse preferred.
  • Two years of recent, related mental health experience or an RN who has recently completed a senior practicum in mental health or an RN with a Canadian Nursing Association certificate in Mental Health required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
Working Conditions:

Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
