Position Overview

As a Psychiatric Nurse Specialist at St. Boniface Hospital, you will provide high-quality psychiatric and emergency nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Your expertise will include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

Experience

  • Recent Psychiatric and/or Emergency Nursing experience is required.
  • This position will work in the Emergency Mental Health pod and Inpatient Mental Health units as well as non-monitored areas of the Emergency department.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Successful completion of the WRHA Emergency Level 1A and WRHA Mental Health Education will be required during orientation.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • CRNM registration is required.
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
