We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Supervisor to join our team at Railserve, Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of your crew and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Panel Technician and Rail Technical advisor to delegate work flow and prioritize tasks throughout the shift.
- Ensure that equipment and housekeeping checklists are completed properly and on time.
- Facilitate Turn Over meetings and drive the emphasis on safety over production in these meetings, providing quality hazard recognition and encouraging your crew to do the same.
- Audit and work alongside crew members to provide constructive feedback during quarterly reviews.
- Support all activities sponsored by Railserve and the Customer, including team building events outside of work.
- Be flexible in scheduling and willing to participate in training for yourself that focuses on leadership and other management principles in the future.
- Work with other members of the department's natural work teams and subject matter experts to assure uninterrupted Site Logistics facility operations and avoid unplanned events.
- Actively participate in the Site Logistics EH&S programs, including peer to peer auditing, Safe Work Permitting, and Isolation of energy.
- Utilize established tools, processes, and procedures, and assist in the review and update process of these procedures.
- Comply with the department's Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS).
- Wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator and/or other PPE that covers the face.
- High School diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
- 6+ months experience required.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to engage in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
- Ability to assess multiple tasks and develop a plan to complete them in a timely manner.
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

This incumbent regularly works in an outdoor environment, in various weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
