About the Role

The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all configuration management functions are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and quality assurance standards. This includes facilitating configuration control boards, performing impact analyses, and ensuring that all affected items are fully identified and listed on the change impact matrix.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review proposed changes and ensure that contractual requirements for configuration are fulfilled
  • Perform impact analysis and assign proper change category and class
  • Schedule and facilitate configuration control board meetings
  • Ensure that all affected items are fully identified and listed on the change impact matrix
  • Audit change packages to ensure continuity between old and new datasets
  • Ensure accurate traceability of product configurations
  • Assess requests for variances and ensure that CM requirements are fulfilled
Requirements
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and product structures
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project schedules
  • Working knowledge of automated CM tools (PLM or ERP applications)
  • CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM-related certification an asset
