Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic HR professional to join our team as Director of Human Resources and Labour Relations. This is a key leadership role that will provide strategic leadership, professional expertise, advice, and direction related to employee and labour relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the HR team, including Labour Relations, HR Advisory Services, and HR Operations and Recruitment.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that promote a strong employee-oriented culture and support the College's Human Resources and Strategic Plans.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources, and College leadership on complex employee relations matters.
  • Oversee the administration of collective agreements and negotiations with labour unions.
  • Build and manage a team of reporting HR/LR practitioners across multiple disciplines.
Requirements
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employee/labour relations within a large, complex, unionized environment, ideally within the public sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
