Director of Human Resources Opportunity at Douglas College

About the Role:

Douglas College is seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead its Human Resources department. As Director of Human Resources, you will provide strategic leadership and expertise in employee and labour relations, including collective agreement administration and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic guidance and direction to HR Advisory Services, HR Operations, and Recruitment, and Labour Relations teams.
  2. Develop and implement HR initiatives that promote a positive employee culture and support the College's Human Resources and Strategic Plans.
  3. Act as a strategic advisor to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources, and College leadership on complex employee relations matters.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HR and labour relations, with experience in a large, complex, unionized environment. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and degree are preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

We offer a competitive salary range of $122,418 to $187,707, with placement within a salary band typically up to the Control Point based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
