Job Title: Communication Officer - Community Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communication Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote community development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Design and implement communication plans to promote community development initiatives, including the development of policies, programs, and services.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Supervise and coordinate the work of professional and support staff, as well as students, to ensure the effective implementation of community development initiatives.
  • Administer Programs: Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas, including the development of venture capital sources and the provision of advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct surveys and analyze data on the buying habits and preferences of wholesale and retail consumers, as well as develop social and economic profiles of areas to encourage industrial and commercial investment.
  • Prepare Reports and Presentations: Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts, and articles, as well as present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Act as Spokesperson: Act as a spokesperson for the organization, providing advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals, and responding to enquiries from members of the business community.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies. Proficiency in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), MS Excel, and MS Word.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Supervision: No supervision responsibility.
