We are seeking a skilled Primary Maternity Care Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary obstetrical and postpartum health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
- Be accountable for appropriate workload and practice, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective management of patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers within the practice and community to ensure a continuum of patient care.
- Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary, and tertiary level healthcare services.
- Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Work towards same-day or next-day access for the practice population, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Collaborate with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required, ensuring seamless care for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities, contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care and services.

- Locum
- Participate in the OB Clinic and flexible call group (from 3-8 shifts per month), ensuring a balance of work and personal life.
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) is essential.
- Primary care obstetrics experience or training is required.
- Newborn care experience is considered an asset.
