Accounts Payable Specialist

CAD Industries Ferroviaires Ltée is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Agent to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Agent, you will play a critical role in the financial operations of our organization by managing the accounts payable process.
Key Responsibilities- Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all invoices are properly coded, approved, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, verifying receipts and adherence to company policies. Reconcile expense reports with corporate credit card statements.
- Vendor Management: Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues. Maintain positive relationships with vendors while ensuring timely payments.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. Ensure compliance with payment terms and take advantage of early payment discounts when applicable.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on accounts payable activities, outstanding payments, and other relevant metrics. Provide insights and analysis to support financial decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field (an asset)
- 2-4 years of proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
