Role Summary: The Fitting and Alterations Expert plays a crucial role in ensuring that all fittings and alterations meet the high standards of David's Bridal. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and requires a blend of technical skill, customer service excellence, and a friendly demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a warm and welcoming experience for all customers through various communication channels, including phone, virtual chats, and in-person interactions.
  • Utilize all available systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star service experience.
  • Maintain high service levels by being prepared, welcoming, and attentive to the emotional and practical needs of customers.
  • Deliver exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously while contributing to the store's five-star customer service goals.
  • Address customer concerns proactively and know when to escalate issues to the leadership team.
  • Communicate the importance of alterations in perfecting the dress for special events and promote all alteration services and personalization options.
  • Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers on gown fit and customization.
  • Uphold store standards to ensure a flawless shopping experience.
  • Adhere to the Dress Code Policy while maintaining a high standard of personal appearance.
  • Greet and escort all alterations customers to and from their appointments.
  • Inspect all garments altered, steamed, or pressed to ensure they are in pristine condition before delivery.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries by providing detailed product and service information.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage inventory by processing special orders and ensuring quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Ensure alteration pricing aligns with company standards.
  • Oversee all aspects of alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments.
  • Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Support cash wrap processes and handle transactions accurately to celebrate every customer.
  • Maintain a clean and organized alterations room.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by store management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach for tools and objects; climb stairs; and perform various physical tasks.
  • Manual dexterity for using POS systems, counting money, steaming garments, and sewing.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds and maintain visual acuity for detailed tasks.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is required, preferably in bridal or special occasion settings.
  • Experience with computerized POS systems is a plus.
