Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optician to join our team at Lens & Frames Optical Inc. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest level of quality in our eyewear products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Opticians
    • Oversee the activities of other opticians and student opticians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
  • Client Consultation and Eyewear Selection
    • Assist clients in selecting the perfect eyeglasses to meet their individual needs and preferences.
  • Contact Lens Advice and Fitting
    • Provide expert advice on the use and care of contact lenses, ensuring clients understand the benefits and proper handling of these products.
  • Lens Grinding and Fitting
    • Arrange for the grinding or polishing of lenses, or perform these tasks in-house to ensure precise and accurate results.
  • Frame Fitting and Adjustment
    • Cut and edge lenses to fit perfectly into frames, and adjust finished eyeglasses to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for clients.
Supervision and Teamwork
  • Lead a team of 1-2 opticians, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless workflow and exceptional results.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Hold licensure by provincial or territorial authorities, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field of optometry.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Demonstrate accuracy, client focus, dependability, and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions and feedback.
  • Display judgement, reliability, and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results and exceeding client expectations.
Requirements
  • Be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Work a regular 35-40 hour workweek.
  • Communicate effectively in English.
