About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Mattamy Homes. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and ensure that all employees and contractors are aware of their responsibilities and obligations.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that employees and contractors have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to health and safety, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in health and safety in construction and residential real estate.
  • University degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, or equivalent experience.
  • OHS Provincial Certification.
  • First Aid including CPR.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
