WAGE RATE: $34.943 – $35.967

Under the supervision of the Manager at Brightshores Cancer Centre, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to deliver care to patients with stable and predictable health outcomes, adhering to the professional scope of practice established by the CNO and Cancer Care Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses Capability to operate within the full scope of practice Minimum of 2 years recent experience in acute care nursing Experience in oncology nursing Proficiency in the administration and management of blood products, as well as subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, CVAD care, and management Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures Completion of De Souza Institute education, including Oncology Foundations and Psychosocial oncology courses, or a commitment to obtain within one year Strong organizational and patient assessment abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Outstanding problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills Dedication to ongoing education and professional growth Involvement in quality improvement initiatives within the unit Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and 'LEAD' Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others), along with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace free from violence and harassment Advocacy for a culture of patient safety, demonstrating an understanding of how departmental services and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to patient safety.
