Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

Brightshores is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Owen Sound. As a key member of our Inpatient Mental Health department, you will provide primary care, consultative services, and care planning for patients with mental health or addiction diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive advanced practice nursing services, including health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and support for adult patients.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines to promote best practices in mental health and addiction care.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional colleagues to provide high-quality patient care and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of patient safety.
  • Act as a mentor and leader, promoting professional practice and excellence within the department.

Requirements:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (EC).
  • Current controlled substance education or willingness to obtain.
  • ACLS/BCLS certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and implementation of evidence-based practice.
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem recognition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • A strong desire and capacity to promote professional practice, recovery model, and excellence.
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a reliable insurable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel to venues outside of assigned site.
  • Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years or more of current expertise in the care of the adult population experiencing mental health issues.
