Job Description

Job Title: Academic Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to teach a course at the university level. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a course that is theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant to the field of study.
  • Utilize a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments.
  • Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments.
  • Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.
  • Meet the requirements of the collective agreement between the University and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching science at the pre-service and/or grades 7-12 levels.
  • Proven ability to infuse technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools for, as, and of learning in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated evidence-based or research-informed practice.
  • Experience working within an LMS is an asset.
  • Experience teaching in a virtual learning environment is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in education or a related relevant field of study.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
