Assistant Restaurant Operations Manager

A&W Restaurants Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity.
Compensation: Starting at $47,750, based on experience and/or completion of in-house training.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Achieve key objectives including high quality, efficient service, and cost management through effective operational oversight. Maintain compliance with Provincial WCB and A&W standards daily, identifying and addressing areas for improvement. Schedule staff and assign roles and responsibilities for each shift. Promote a positive workplace climate by ensuring adherence to established goals.Human Resource Management:
Train and develop team members, addressing performance issues as necessary. Ensure a safe and motivating work environment by applying daily workplace climate goals. Maintain compliance with Employment regulations consistently. Document critical incidents and communicate them to relevant parties.Financial Oversight:
Complete accounting tasks as directed by the manager, including daily, weekly, and periodic administration. Manage inventory control, ordering, and cost management, including weekly inventory counts. Implement cash handling policies and food cost management strategies.Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure cleanliness and safe food handling practices are upheld. Deliver exceptional service to guests through efficient preparation and staff positioning. Assist the Manager with local marketing initiatives. Handle customer complaints and implement service recovery strategies. Ensure team members maintain a professional appearance.Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant industry. Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of all restaurant positions. Thorough understanding of restaurant Operating Systems and Standards. Genuine interest in developing team members. Ability to manage accounting and administrative functions effectively.Preferred Skills:
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English. Basic mathematical skills. Capability to train and mentor others through a hands-on approach. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Aptitude for leading meetings and discussions.Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Capability to perform some heavy lifting as required.-
