We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian Assistant to join our team at Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional custodial services to our schools.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily cleaning services, including maintenance of floors and rugs, dusting furniture, and ensuring washroom cleanliness and hygiene.
- Manage waste management services, including garbage and recycling collection and disposal.
- Conduct scheduled fire extinguisher, pull station, and emergency lighting checks.
- Open and close Board buildings, ensuring doors and windows are secure, and alarms are set and disarmed as necessary.
- Provide custodial services for off-hours use of school permits and confirm proper use of permits.
- Arrange and disassemble room set-ups for special events, including tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Maintain school grounds, including gardens, snow removal, and sanding of designated areas.
- Ship materials and distribute receivables within the school.
- Perform minor repair duties, such as changing light bulbs, tightening door screws, and touch-up painting.
- Assist Maintenance staff as directed by the Custodial Supervisor.
- Secondary school graduation diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of relevant work experience in custodial practices and equipment, with a preference for experience in industrial cleaning settings.
- Valid driver's license and use of own vehicle.
- Experience in minor building maintenance is an asset.
