Job Title: Special Education Technician - Project Harbour ASD

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Technician to join our team at the English Montreal School Board. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized education plans and provide support to students with ASD and other special needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement behavioral support plans
  • Provide one-on-one support to students in the classroom and in other settings
  • Assist with data collection and reporting to support student progress
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of student IEPs
Requirements:
  • Diploma of College Studies in Special Care Counselling or equivalent
  • Four years of directly relevant experience working with students with ASD and other special needs
  • Working knowledge of French and fluency in English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to use technology to create visual strategies for students
  • Experience with assistive communication devices and TEACCH strategies
  • Knowledge of behavioral difficulties related to autism and other related diagnoses
