Your contributions will play a vital role in the success of the Payments & Core Banking Engineering globally, ensuring that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the team's business strategies and objectives.   3. Create automation testing scripts that fulfill stakeholder requirements while consistently working to minimize technical debt.
  4. Document and evaluate new software applications.
  5. Investigate and resolve a variety of technical issues.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance objectives are met.
  7. Work together to provide estimations and breakdown of tasks to facilitate small and frequent releases to production.
  8. Actively engage in customer discovery and solution exploration sessions.
  9. Participate in the development, testing, debugging, reviewing, merging, integrating, versioning, and promoting of code through various environments and version control.
  10. Understand how the organization's risk appetite and culture should influence daily activities and decisions.
  11. Strive for effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of daily business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
Do you possess the skills that will enable you to excel in this role? We would be excited to collaborate with you if you have:
  1. A degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Over 2 years of experience in software development.
  3. Experience in systems design with a solid grasp of development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies.
  4. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with a software development team under tight deadlines.
  5. Proficiency in JAVA-related technologies and frameworks (Spring/Springboot Framework, J2EE, and JUnit).
  6. Familiarity with open-source CI/CD tools (Bitbucket/GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes).
  7. A solid understanding of Test Automation frameworks and tools (Cucumber and Citrus).
