Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Actuary to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will apply your actuarial knowledge and problem-solving skills to develop and maintain pricing models and strategies for various product lines. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business and communicate complex analysis to non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain pricing models and economic projections for new and renewal portfolios in various commercial and personal product lines, including property, liability, surety, warranty, and other products.
  • Support underwriters in evaluating new lines of business, including premium adequacy, reinsurance considerations, economic projections, and other elements of deal strategy and execution.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and other tools for ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance and risk.
  • Perform independent rate indications for major business lines and assess profitability of product segments.
  • Provide input on product feature structure and pricing.
  • Monitor exposure accumulations to identify opportunities for profitable growth and risk control.
  • Contribute to the ORSA, FCT, and other economic capital and stress testing processes.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant property and casualty actuarial experience.
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Broad knowledge of actuarial methods in property and casualty insurance.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with catastrophe modeling and GIS tools.
  • Understanding of data science and statistical tools.
  • Experience leading project teams and developing junior analysts.
