Senior Actuary (Pricing) - Toronto

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary to join our dynamic team in Toronto. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will apply your expertise in actuarial modeling and problem-solving to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain pricing models and economic projections for various product lines, including property, liability, surety, warranty, and other products.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and business leaders to evaluate new lines of business, assess premium adequacy, and quantify the impact of portfolios on the company's economics.
  • Design and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and other tools for monitoring portfolio performance and risk.
  • Perform independent rate indications for major business lines and assess profitability of product segments.
  • Provide input on product feature structure and pricing, and monitor exposure accumulations for opportunities for growth and risk control.
  • Contribute to the development of reinsurance projections and credit risk management processes.
  • Perform other pricing, reserving, data analytics, or predictive modeling analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant property and casualty actuarial experience.
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Broad knowledge of actuarial methods in property and casualty insurance.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills:
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities, including critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Practical knowledge of and experience with reinsurance.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to present results to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized with experience in solving problems and managing projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with catastrophe modeling and GIS tools.
  • Understanding of data science and statistical tools.
  • Experience leading project teams and developing junior analysts.
