Scotiabank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Protection Strategist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the security and integrity of our valuable data assets.

As a Data Protection Strategist, you will provide expert guidance and support to various business units and technology teams on implementing robust data protection controls. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance on data protection policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities related to data security.
  • Develop and implement effective data protection controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure the integration of data protection measures into systems and applications.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats and industry best practices in data protection.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, information technology, or computer science.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in data protection and security.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
