About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks: Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks to enhance data quality and ensure consistent data management practices across the organization.
  • Manage Data Lifecycle: Oversee the data lifecycle, including classification, storage, retention, and deletion, to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with data owners, data stewards, and business units to maintain data governance standards and resolve data-related issues.
  • Lead Data Governance Initiatives: Develop and execute data governance initiatives, collaborating with data stewards and business units to achieve data consistency and standardization.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of rapidly evolving technological trends, self-learn new technologies, and understand the business and technology strategies.
Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven expertise in data governance frameworks and understanding of data protection regulations and compliance.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures, proficiency in SQL, data mining, and data observability best practices, and ability to lead data governance initiatives and projects.
  • Language: Bilingualism in Spanish/English is an asset.
