Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Power Engineer 3rd Class to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, repair, and modify elements, components, and appliances associated with the steam distribution, steam condensate, hot water heating, heating ventilation, and air conditioning, medical air/vacuum, mechanical power generation systems, and other related equipment of the facility at a 3rd Class Power Engineer's level.
- Work within the VGH Energy Centre as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC.
- Four (4) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
