Reporting directly to the intellectual property engineer, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Evaluating new ideas to pinpoint potential innovations
  • Conducting thorough prior art investigations
  • Assisting in the preparation of patent submissions
  • Coordinating patent oversight with engineering teams
  • Analyzing existing patents
  • Assessing potential infringement concerns regarding third-party intellectual property rights related to Soucy's products

Candidate Profile

What We Seek

  • Academic or professional background in mechanical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with patents (preferred)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English for patent-related research, writing, and translation
  • Interest in product development and/or research and development (R&D) (preferred)
  • Enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and/or robotics (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods
  • Organizational skills and the capability to manage documentation systematically
  • Self-sufficiency and resourcefulness
