At Soucy Group, we prioritize the protection of intellectual property rights and the promotion of knowledge sharing, which are essential for fostering innovation.

Reporting directly to the intellectual property engineer, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Engaging in the assessment of new ideas to pinpoint potential innovations
  • Performing prior art investigations
  • Supporting the preparation of patent submissions
  • Facilitating patent oversight in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Reviewing existing patents
  • Assessing potential infringement concerns regarding third-party intellectual property rights related to Soucy's products

Candidate Profile

What We Seek

  • Educational or professional background in mechanical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering (preferred)
  • Familiarity with patents (preferred)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual proficiency (French and English) for patent-related research, writing, and translation
  • Interest in product development and/or research and development (R&D) (preferred)
  • Enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and/or robotics (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods
  • Organizational skills and the capability to manage documentation systematically
  • Self-sufficiency and resourcefulness
