At Soucy, we prioritize the protection of intellectual property rights and the promotion of knowledge sharing, which are vital for fostering innovation.

Reporting to the intellectual property engineer, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Engaging in the assessment of new ideas to pinpoint potential innovations
  • Performing prior art investigations
  • Supporting the drafting of patent submissions
  • Facilitating patent oversight in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Reviewing existing patents
  • Assessing potential infringement concerns regarding third-party intellectual property rights related to Soucy's products

Profile

What we seek

  • Academic or professional background in mechanical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with patents (preferred)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual proficiency (French and English) for patent-related research, writing, and translation
  • Interest in product development and/or research and development (R&D) (preferred)
  • Interest in artificial intelligence and/or robotics (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods
  • Organizational skills and capability to manage documentation systematically
  • Independence and resourcefulness
