Part-Time Mathematics Educator Needed

Are you enthusiastic about numbers? Do you have a knack for guiding students through their mathematical journey?

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is in search of dedicated part-time educators to join our learning community. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students and are committed to enhancing their skills in mathematics.

As a Mathematics Educator at Oxford Learning, you will not need to create lesson plans, as all instructional materials are provided. Comprehensive training in our unique teaching philosophy and methodologies will be provided to all successful candidates.

Position Requirements:

All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment for the academic year is preferred, with opportunities to continue through the summer. Reliability is essential, as students will benefit from your consistent support.

This position requires in-person attendance at our learning centre. Applicants must be able to commute to the designated location. This is not a remote position, and no relocation assistance is available. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience will be considered
  • Strong understanding of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum, capable of teaching from basic counting to advanced calculus

Experience:

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate student comprehension
  • Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as an Interactive Coach with the following duties:

  • Instructing up to three students concurrently at varying levels
  • Delivering lessons both online and in-person
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19 - $25 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
  • Saturday availability (9:00 am - 2:00 pm)
