Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Second Cup Cafe. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cafe, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our food and beverage offerings meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Operations Management
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory levels.
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for business growth and improvement.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Work Schedules and Planning
    • Establish work schedules for staff, ensuring that all shifts are covered and that staff are adequately prepared for their duties.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Efficient interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
    • Flexibility.
    • Team player.
    • Dependability.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The work language is English.
