About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Claims Technical Consultant to join our Property team in the Atlantic region.

This opportunity can be based in one of the following locations: Dartmouth NS, Dieppe NB, or St John's N.L.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the review and update of claims standards and procedures to ensure compliance with contracts and applicable legislation.
  • Provide technical expertise to managers on quality, complaints, training, and underwriting.
  • Ensure consistency of responses from team members.
  • Collaborate with regions to streamline standards and procedures.
  • Represent the team in various committees, meetings, and projects.
  • Maintain close ties with underwriting technical teams to ensure alignment with underwriting intentions.
  • Support operations during disaster plan activations.
  • Stay up-to-date on insurance product and underwriting changes to inform claims colleagues.
  • Participate in insurance form revision projects and analyze new insurance products.
Requirements
  • University degree or relevant training and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of property insurance products in personal and business lines.
  • 10 years of experience in insurance claims, with a minimum of 5 years in property claims.
  • Training experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
