About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Hygiene Specialist to join our team at Teck. As a key member of our Health and Safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the protection of the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective occupational health and hygiene programs to minimize exposure to hazardous substances and promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on control measures to mitigate potential health risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to operations teams to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of workplace exposures and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Represent the Health and Safety team on site committees and provide subject matter expertise on occupational health and hygiene matters.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Occupational Hygiene or a related science field.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in occupational hygiene, with a strong background in risk assessment and control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide recommendations.

Salary Range: $117,000 - $144,500

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
