Interior Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health & Substance Use Support Worker (MH&SU) to join our team in Kamloops, B.C.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential support services to clients experiencing mental health, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Your role will focus on empowering individuals through life skills training, coaching, advocacy, information, and support, helping them achieve their goals and enhance their well-being.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized interventions tailored to the specific needs of clients, focusing on relapse prevention, community adjustment, and employment skills development.
  • Facilitate client empowerment and competency development across four key domains: personal life, education, leisure, and work, adhering to psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery principles.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and address their unique rehabilitation and support needs, guiding them through the steps for success.
  • Monitor client progress towards goals, proactively assist individuals in averting potential crises, and provide regular updates to the Case Coordinator or multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate, plan, promote, arrange, facilitate, and evaluate specialized programs such as Clubhouses, Supportive Housing, and Vocational Support Programs.
