Claims Operations Manager

About the RoleAs a Technical Claims Supervisor, you'll be accountable for managing unit operations, providing leadership, coaching, and development to staff to achieve claims objectives. You'll lead and cultivate an inspired working environment that encourages mastery, autonomy, purpose, and resiliency for a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high-performing claims team to deliver exceptional client service and meet claims handling guidelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies and claims handling practices across all provincial jurisdictions.
- Coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, and provide daily support to claims staff in making sound decisions.
- Ensure the adequacy of manual reserves and implement the reserving policy, authorizing claim payments and reserves up to $1,000,000.
- Recruit, select, and develop talent, recognizing achievements and managing performance to develop an agile team and achieve department objectives.
- Seven years of experience in claims, insurance, or related business experience.
- Post-secondary education.
- FCIP or CIP designation or working towards it.
- Successful experience in coaching, developing, and leading others, with a positive focus on teamwork and professionalism.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies and claims handling practices across all provincial jurisdictions.
