Weeneebayko Area Health Authority is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary health care to clients in our hospital and outpatient department.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires a high level of adaptability and cultural sensitivity. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and provide health teaching and promotion to clients.
Responsibilities- Provide primary health care to clients in the hospital and outpatient department
- Liaise and consult with physicians to ensure quality care
- Provide health teaching and promotion to clients
- Refer clients to community health agencies and programs as needed
- Work with registered nursing staff to develop skills and perform procedures delegated by physicians
- Successful completion of a registered nursing program with certification as a primary health care nurse practitioner
- Minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting
- Experience in outpost nursing setting is an asset
- Current registration as a registered nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Knowledge and sensitivity of Indigenous health issues and of the geographic region
- Defined contribution pension plan (HOOPP) and health and welfare benefits
- Northern allowance, retention, travel benefits, and housing
